Will Ferrell Says He’s F*****G Perfect

Okay, maybe that’s not completely true. He’s F*****g Perfect is actually the title of a new comedy script that Will Ferrell is his pal Adam McKay are overseeing. The script has been written by newcomer Lauren Kahn who used to be Adam McKay’s personal assistant. But do you want to know the most interesting thing? Lauren sold the script for a cool million dollars! Cha-ching!

He’s F*****g Perfect follows a woman who Facebook-stalks the men her friends are dating, so she can weed out the losers. But then she spots one who she think is perfect, and starts trying to convince her pal to dump him so she can date him instead. Ouch…

GEEK FACT: Lauren Kahn used to write and direct for the website Funny Or Die (check the hilarious ‘magic’ video below).

9th Wonder – The Wonder Years

There’s only one word to describe how I feel about this film and that’s exciteddddddd! If you didn’t know 9th Wonder is a producer, DJ, lecturer and rapper from North Carolina. He’s produced records for Erykah Badu, Wale, Ludacris, Jay-Z and more. There’s no UK release date set for The Wonder Year but when there is one, I’ll definitely let you know.

Snoop Is The Porno Director

Suicide Kids Teaser

This is one British film that I can’t wait to see. It’s written and directed by newcomer Arjun Rose and exec produced by Idris Elba (now, you know he doesn’t do anything by halves). Suicide Kids revolves around a young girl who takes her own life and encourages seven other depressed teenagers to form a suicide pact. Robert Sheehan (Misfits), Reggie Yates (Radio 1), Ashley Walters (Life and Lyrics), Femi Oyeniran (Anuvahood) and Tulisa Contostavlos (yes, I mean Tulisa from N-Dubz) all star in the film which comes out in the UK in June 2011.

Isla Fisher In The Next Hangover?

Okay, maybe that’s not completely true but she is going to star in the film Desperado which has been described as the female version of The Hangover. The film is about three women who take a trip to Las Vegas, where they attempt to sort out the relationship between one of the women and the man she regrets dumping. Isla will play the lead but the other two female roles haven’t been casted yet. I have a feeling that Kristen Wiig and her Bridesmaids aren’t going to be too happy about this!

I wonder if they’ve heard of Wedding Crashers?

Watch The First Five Minutes Of Source Code!

If you’re going to watch the Source Code when it comes out on the 1st April, take your time because  you can watch the first five minutes of the film here. Oh and who knew that comedian Russell Peters is in the film? I have a feeling that ‘somebody gonna get hurt real bad’…sorry, I couldn’t help myself! Check out the clip from Russell Peters 2009 tour below – I love it!

GEEK FACT: Russell Peters is going to star in the film New Year’s Eve alongside Robert De Niro, Jessica Biel, Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher which comes out in the UK on the 9th December.

Warner Want To Remake ‘The Bodyguard’

Nope, this isn’t a joke it’s actually going to happen. Warner Bros. no longer love the 1992 version of Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard. Or at least, the studio still loves the idea, but they want a more up to date version. This time around, an Iraq War veteran gets the job of protecting the starlet after he leaves the army (poor guy, he should have stayed there). Warner haven’t found their Whitney yet but when they do, they want to make her into a star! It looks like Rihanna’s definitely out of the running then! Oh and I couldn’t post this news without the famous song! Come on, sing it, you know you wanna!

GEEK FACT: Rachel’s mansion is the same mansion as the “horse’s head in the bed” mansion in The Godfather – eekh!

Cameron Diaz Is A Bad Teacher!

Cameron has got a foul mouth, a smoking body and is a gold digger (not in real life though…okay, maybe she has got a good body). In Bad Teacher she plays Elizabeth Halsey, a 7th grade teacher who after getting dumped by her sugar daddy she sets her eyes on a wealthy colleague Scott Delacorte aka Justin Timberlake. Have a peek at the trailer below and tell me if I’m not the only that felt awkward for Justin and Cameron.

GEEK FACT: This film is written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (The Office and Year One) and is directed by Jake Kasdan who is good friends with Judd Apatow and he directed the American TV show Freaks and Geeks which starred Jason Segel and Seth Rogen – now if that doesn’t smell like a hit, I don’t know what does.

Marvin Gaye The Movie

It seems as though Marvin Gaye’s biopic has been on the table for years but now it looks like it has finally been given the green light. Julien Temple (The Filth and the Fury) will be directing the film about the legendary soul singer, titled Sexual Healing (I know, cringe). The film will focus on Marvin’s final album Midnight Love that he recorded in the early ’80s. At that time he was living in Brussels, struggling with drugs and was seen as a liability by record companies. But with the help of Belgian promoter Freddy Cousaert, he recorded what a lot of people believe to have been his greatest ever album.

There’s no word on who will play Marvin, although Terrence Howard and Law & Order actor Jesse L Martin have both been linked to the film in the past. I just hope that whoever gets the gig does as well as what Jamie Foxx did in the Ray Charles biopic.

“No doubt I could have been a Hollywood star, but it was something I consciously rejected. Not that I didn’t want it. I most certainly did. I just didn’t have the fortitude to play the Hollywood game and put my ass out there like a piece of meat.” (Marvin Gaye).

Check out this rare interview of Marvin and his father in 1977.

Evander Holyfield Teaches Russell Brand A Few Things

Check out the brand spanking new trailer for Russell Brand’s latest film Arthur. The film stars Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner and Luis Guzmán and comes out in the UK on the 22nd April. Oh and as we’re on the subject of Russell Brand he’s also the voice of the cutest Easter Bunny in the Hollywood!.

GEEK FACT: This remake has been made and released exactly thirty years after the original Arthur (1981).

Jesse Eisenberg Is Having An Arranged Marriage?

Okay, maybe that’s not completely true but it is in his latest film Holy Rollers that comes out on the 20th May this year. It was filmed back in 2008 but only premiered at Sundance last year. The film is about Sam Gold (Jesse Eisenberg), who plays a young Orthodox Jewish man from Brooklyn who is on track for an arranged marriage and training as a rabbi until The Hangovers Justin Bartha recruits him as a drug mule. The film also stars Q-Tip as one of the drug dealers…I think 50, Common and RZA were unavailable for the shoot – typical.

Check out the trailer below.

Ewan McGregor Starts From The Beginning

I Love You Phillip Morris was one of my favourite films of 2010 so it’s quiet unusual to see Ewan McGregor starring in Beginners. The film follows Oliver (Ewan McGregor) who’s father (Christopher Plummer), after 44 years of marriage to his mother tells him that he has terminal cancer and is gay.

GEEK FACT: Ewan is a UNICEF ambassador and he adopted a 4-year-old girl from Mongolia, named Jamyan, whom he met while traveling around the world in 2004.

Liam Neeson Is Uknown

Here’s the brand new trailer for Liam Neeson’s latest film Uknown. It comes out on the UK on the 25th February.

50 Cent And Floyd Mayweather At Sundance

Check out Curtis Jackson and Floyd Mayweather at this years Sundance Film Festival. Fiddy is over there to buy scripts for his film company Cheetah Vision – he’s not messing around.

Oh and this video of his latest record ‘Down on Me’ gets me every time, lol!

Rebecca De Mornay Is Back To Rock The Cradle

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle was one of my favourite films of the 90′s and Peyton Flanders aka the psycho babysitter definitely scared the crap out of me. Now, Rebecca De Mornay is back to star in her new latest film Mother’s Day. It’s about three brothers who rob a bank and are on the run from the police. They decide to go to their moms house (I know, they’re so stupid) but she moved out so it’s bad news for the new homeowners. Anyway, their mother isn’t too far away, she comes back to house to take control of the blood bath…okay maybe she adds to it.

Mother’s Day will be out in the UK cinemas on April 1st.

New Sucker Punch Poster

We all love kick ass chicks and Sucker Punch is exactly that. It stars Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish and Emily Browning and the film is directed by Zack Snyder who was responsible for 300, Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead.

Sucker Punch is out in the UK on the 1st April.

Mel Gibson And The Beaver!?!

I still can’t believe that Summit Entertainment are going ahead with Mel Gibson’s latest film The Beaver. But now the trailers here, I guess it’s official. The film follows Walter Black (Gibson) who is seriously depressed and detached from his wife (Jodie Foster) and children (Anton Yelchin and Riley Thomas Stewart). Then one day he finds a beaver puppet in a bin (who may I add has a British accent) and all of his troubles go away – seriously, that’s it! Peek the trailer below if you don’t believe me.

The Beaver comes out on the 11th February 2011.

GEEK FACT: Jim Carrey and Steve Carell were both approached to play the lead role but turned it down…I wonder why.

Age Is Only A Number

Who Cares about Age? Well, Susan SarandonJane Fonda and Sigourney Weaver clearly don’t need to worry! The legendary film actresses posed for V Magazine’sWho Cares about Age Issue” and here’s what they said about aging:

Jane, 72: “There’s fabulous things about being older. The older people get, the less scared they are. All the studies show you’re not as anxious. People have less hostility, they have less negative emotions. They tend to see things from both sides. Very few things stress me out.”

Susan, 64: “I think growing older is tough for everybody … I think it’s really important to be in your life and surround yourself with things that get you excited, so you don’t feel like life is passing you by.”

Sigourney, 61: “I never worry when they say ‘there are no roles’ or whatever. As long sa people are telling stories, there will be great roles for all shapes, sizes, and sexes. You just keep moving and things come.”

Daniel Day-Lewis Will Be President

Daniel Day-Lewis has signed up to play President Lincoln in a new biopic film directed by Steven SpielbergLincoln is based on the bestselling book ‘Team of Rivals’ by historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and was adapted into a screenplay by Tony Kushner, who also wrote Spielberg’s film Munich. It looks like Speilberg is happy to have Daniel onboard as he said “I am grateful and inspired that our paths will finally cross with Lincoln.”

Jake Gyllenhaal Is A New Man

Poor Jake Gyllenhaal! He isn’t having a very good day in Duncan Jones’ (Moon) latest sci-fi thriller Source Code. He plays Colter Stevens, a military man who has jumped into the identity of a train commuter named Sean Fentress. In a nutshell he has 8 minutes to find out who is responsible for bombing the train that he’s on – and that means going back every time he fails.

Peek the trailer below.

Seth Rogan Is On Neighbourhood Watch

It looks like Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg are rounding up the troops to re-write Peter Segal’s film Neighbourhood Watch. To be honest it’s a pretty obvious plot but I’m sure with a little bit of Superbad and Pineapple Express dust it will be funny as hell. The film is about a neighbourhood watch group (who are just a bunch of blokes trying to get away from their families) who stumble across something that may threaten their neighbourhood – it is me or does this sound like The Burbs all over again?

Seth Rogan’s latest film Green Hornet is out in the UK on the 14th January – check out the brand new trailer below!
