Four Lions Live Commentary!
Four Lions is one of the best British films ever made (it’s a big statement but it’s true!). It is being premiered on Channel 4 today so if you’ve not seen Chris Morris’ latest masterpiece, I suggest you switch on your TV now. Who Wants A Hand Job?
I know for a fact that the title of this film will grab a lot of peoples attention but the cast of The Hand Job seems to be getting better by the day. The film is about Aubrey Plaza (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) who will play an academically driven young woman who is about to head to college but doesn’t know anything about sex. So, she throws herself into losing her virginity and tries to learn everything there is to know about sex before she hits the dorm room…cue awkwardness! The film also starts SNL’s Andy Samberg, 30 Rock’s Donald Glover and Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka Fogell aka McLovin.
No date has been given for the films release but as soon as I find out, I’ll let you nerds know. Check out Aubrey Plaza on George Lopez talking about being half latino, her taste in men and her first ever girl fight.
GEEK FACT: Aubrey Plaza had never done stand-up comedy before she appeared in and performed stand-up comedy in the film Funny People (2009).
In The Land Of The Free
In the Land of the Free is a documentary film about Herman Wallace, Albert Woodfox and Robert King, three black men from Louisiana who were held in solitary confinement for over 3 decades. The film is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and it is one of the most heart wrenching documentaries I’ve seen in a very long time. Robert who was falsely accused of his crime was released from prison in 2001 but Herman and Albert still remain behind bars. Today, I caught up with Robert who is in town promoting the film and I can honestly say that he is an inspirational human being. Check out the trailer below to see what I’m talking about. Plus, you can hear my interview with Robert on BBC Radio 1Xtra in a few weeks.

My Oscar Predictions And Aziz Was In The Building!
God damn it! If only I put some money on my Oscar predictions I would have been down the pub right now…okay maybe I wouldn’t but you know what I mean. All of my Oscar predictions were right and today on BBC Radio 1Xtra I made sure everyone knew it! Plus, Aziz Ansari was in building and we spoke about the Oscars, his idols, music and films!

This week I caught up with the lovely Simon Pegg ahead of the release of his new film Burke and Hare. It’s a true story about Burke (Simon Pegg) and Hare (Andy Serkis), two of Edinburgh’s most notorious serial killers who murdered at least 15 people to make fast cash. Movie Geeks Meets Cyrus Director Jay Duplass
Have you ever been in an awkward situation? Well, I can guarantee that it’s not been as awkward as the film Cyrus. The comedy/drama is about John (John C. Reilly) who hooks up with Molly (Marisa Tomei) at a party and it’s love at first sight…until he meets her son Cyrus (Jonah Hill). He’s a weird 21 year old who suffers from nightmares and thinks it’s normal to walk into the bathroom when his mom is having a shower (I told you it’s awkward). Last week I caught up with one of the men responsible for the film, co-writer/director Jay Duplass. Movie Geeks Caught Up With Tyler Perry
“If you’re having marriage problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a b**** ain’t one” (I had to tailor Jigga’s lyric, lol). But trust, me if you’ve got marriage problems the only film you need to see this weekend is ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’. It stars an A-List cast including; Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Tyler Perry and loads more. I caught up with Tyler Perry who directed and starred in the film and if you didn’t know was the Executive Producer of this years biggest film ‘Precious’.

Gabourey Sidibe on Jonathan Ross
Just incase you missed it, Gabby was on Jonathan Ross on Friday night. She spoke about her support behind The Lazarus Effect (Red Campaign), which is a film that hopes to increase awareness for its efforts to fight AIDS in Africa. Hayden Christensen, Don Cheadle, Gwen Stefani, Chris Rock and Bono are also supporters of the campaign (check out the video below). Ms Sidibe not only spoke about the campaign but how she uses her celebrity status to hit on cute men – I say why not!.
GEEK FACT: Gabourey has just finished shooting the film Yelling to the Sky alongside Zoë Kravitz and Marc John Jefferies (he played junior 50 Cent in Get Rich or Die Tryin’). It is written and directed by Victoria Mahoney (Legally Blonde and Seinfeld) and in this film Gabourey plays a bully.

Sandy Meets The Four Lions
It’s Friday and the ONLY that film you need to go and see this weekend is Four Lions. I don’t need to tell you what it’s about because if you’ve picked up a newspaper, switched on the TV or even turned on a radio this week you would have heard about it. It’s one of the best British films I’ve seen this year and will guarantee to make you laugh.

Sandy Meets Sara Foster aka Jen Clarke from 90210
If you fancy watching a dark, psychological thriller that will mess with your mind this weekend, go and see Psych 9. I caught up with Sara Foster aka Jen Clark from 90210 who played Roslyn in the film.
